Designed for performance
Ultra-stable ceramic bridge and spindle guideway with closed-loop stainless steel belt friction drive and high resolution 0.05μm optical scales result in volumetric accuracies as low as 1.5μm + L/375

Precision dove-tail table guideway and unique single orifice grooved pre-loaded wrap-around air bearings for smooth and controlled high motion.
Shop floor ready
ALTERA CMMs are designed both for use in metrology laboratories as for use on the shop floor. The use of new folding guideway covers on the bridge provide protection from dust and oil. The relocation of the S-axis on larger models to the side of the granite protects this critical component from damage during (especially larger) work-piece loading. The table loading capacity has also increased by up to 81% for the inspection of heavier parts.
ALTERA CMMs can be equipped with active (pneumatic) anti-vibration mounts. Superior pneumatic self-levelling vibration isolation for optimum performance in areas subject to high levels of low frequency vibration.
The multi-sensor ALTERA CMMs are accompanied by an extensive range of tactile and optical probing, automation hardware and software options . A variety of probe heads are supported with touch-trigger, scanning probes, 5-axis measurement and laser scanners.
Unique accuracy guarantee
Nikon Metrology is the only manufacturer to guarantee the accuracy of its CMMs for 10 years. Should your Nikon Metrology ALTERA CMM not achieve its original accuracy specification at any time within 10 years from the date of purchase due to a structural failure, Nikon Metrology will repair or replace the system free of charge.
