Job Title: Director of Automotive Process Solutions

Job Purpose:

In order to grow our European automotive sheet metal inspection business, we are looking to appoint a Director of Automotive Process Solutions. This role will be responsible for:

  • The development of sales opportunities in the area of body-in-white (BIW) inspection, by selling the value of our solution to key decision makers in the industry
  • Preparing  the offer, both contents and costing
  • The technical closing of the deal
  • The correct and timely delivery of the systems sold

This position will be based in our offices in Derby, however, the role requires extensive travel nationally and internationally.


The key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Developing the value proposition for the different members of the decision making unit
  • Taking the lead during high level customer discussions as the Nikon Metrology specialist for BIW inspection
  • Training the sales team on this value proposition
  • Determine the configuration that is best suited for the customer needs
  • Agreeing roles and responsibilities for each stakeholder in the delivery process
  • Collection of quotes from suppliers
  • Preparing customer offers and corresponding cost sheets
  • Defend offer in front of the customer
  • Get buy-in from customer on our proposal

You will be required to work cross functionally with other sales regions and departments to ensure customer needs can be met and exceeded.


What we are looking for:

As Director of Automotive Process Solutions, you will:

  • Be educated to degree level, possessing a degree in a technical discipline and be a technical expert in in-line inspection and vehicle construction (body in white)
  • Have knowledge of GD&T, measurement plans, process capability and inspection software
  • Be an expert in metrology, robotics and automation
  • Have previous experience of dealing with customers at all levels in a customer facing role
  • Be experienced in project management
  • Have previous experience of managing a team
  • Be comfortable travelling frequently nationally and internationally for up to 50% of your time to meet with key stakeholders
