NIKON Customer Service Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, calibration, service, installation and repairs of all Nikon Metrology systems at customer sites. The Customer Service Engineer maintains documentation for each job carried out and ensuring this is returned to the Service Back Office, once the job is completed. They will have to provide, from time to time, assistance to the technical staff and support to dealers.



  • Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction
  • Installation, calibration, repairs and maintenance of equipment in the field and provide customer training when required
  • Be a technical expert on his product domain, follow and provide training
  • Document all inspections, maintenance, repair work and submits paperwork in a timely manner
  • Ensuring fitted parts and consumables are noted on paperwork and faulty parts are returned making sure that serial numbers are logged
  • Participates in service sales opportunities and assists with promoting and implementing revenue programs
  • Ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated 
  • Provide technical support to service customers
  • Establishes and maintains a close relationship with departments in order to support the needs of the customer and remain aware of current technical trends
  • Work hours outside normal week days may be required
  • Extensive travel in and outside normal regions
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with company health, safety and environmental policies
  • Ability to travel at short notice worldwide
  • Ability to work in stressful situations
  • Identify product and process improvements
  • Other duties as required



  • Degree, equivalent technical qualification or relevant experience
  • Time served technical apprentice an advatage

  • Computer literacy, competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite
  • Technical background : basic electrical, mechanics and electronics


  • Field service experience
  • Customer service skills
  • Electrical or mechanical background
  • Precision orientated



  • Our service engineers need to follow the safety guidelines of the company where they are performing the service.
  • If work is done in an industrial environment, the engineer is requested to wear PPE
  • Working in cleanrooms may be required
