Business Analyst

JOB PURPOSE

The Business Analyst is the financial- and quantitative conscience of the Business Unit.  In that context he/she helps to translate the company- & Business Unit-targets to quantitative operational objectives (KPI’s) for the Business Unit, and analyses, reports and (helps to) steer(s) & adjust(s) the actual performance of the BU, while staying within the context of values, norms & rules of the organization.

 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Prepare and support the consolidation of the overall budget of the Business Unit (BU)
  • Optimize the budget processes and tools: manage & coordinate the planning- & control-cycles (Budgets, Latest Estimates)
  • Setting the right KPI’s to advise (Business Unit) management proactively
  • Control business-results & costs
  • Translates targets into quantitative operational KPI’s for the BU
  • Tenders
  • Working capital management
    • Coordination & monitoring of stock counts (service/demo), slow movers, capex-budget & -stock, recoveries
    • Front-end credit-management (quote approvals – payment & invoicing terms, credit check, payment plan (when required)
  • Contract management (contract review – with legal, preparation of Negotiations around Terms & Conditions in clients-, distributor-, and agency-contracts, supplier questionnaires)
  • Analyze the BU budget and identify points of attention
  • Manage periodical Business Unit reports
  • Carry out monthly variance analyses in order to measure the performance in relation to the budget
  • Report findings and define action plans
  • Safeguarding Internal Control procedures
  • Support the internal management reporting
  • Support the reporting within the Nikon group
  • Assist with the preparation of business cases
  • Support ad-hoc requests from management

 

ANCILLARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Analyst needs to be a team player with strong communication skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Appropriate experience in a controlling or audit environment
  • Appropriate qualification in business or finance

Desirable

  • End-to-end understanding of the value chain of an organisation
  • Knowledge of Navision or reporting tools
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Experience with process improvement and/or cost accounting
