We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER based in Germany. High amount of travel in Europe and sporadically worldwide will be required. The job will be executed mostly at customer location (70-80% travel).



Provide field service solutions to meet customer needs and requirements. The Service Engineer Laser Radar/Laser Scanner will be responsible for installation, maintenance, customer support, calibration and repairs. Deliver suitable solutions for customer questions and give technical support on site. Ensure the highest level of customer serviceKEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:


 Key areas of responsibilities

  • Installation, maintenance, calibration and repairs of equipment in the field and provide customer training when required. 
  • Follow business and product processes and procedures
  • Keep customer/asset/service history records updated in CRM
  • Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated 
  • Support all Customers, Nikon personnel and distributors working with Laser Radar
  • Be a technical point of contact to support new sales projects
  • Strive to obtain the highest level of product knowledge to be effective
  • Review and approve repairs in CRM
  • Perform repairs/calibrations at the Nikon Service Centre and at the customers site
  • Support NM administration teams with technical information/part numbers
  • Comply with Company health, safety and environmental policies
  • Mainly traveling to customer location (sometimes on short notice) to promote high level response lead time solutions in complete autonomy


Ancillary responsibilities

  • Prioritize and plan work to achieve high standards of customer satisfaction.
  • Interface with other departments to escalate issues and obtain support where needed (engineering, manufacturing, sales & service).
  • Identify product and process improvements.






  • Degree in technical engineering or similar by experience.
  • Excellent IT skills for working with Windows, Word, excel and outlook.
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English is a must.
  • Experience in Metrology with focus on the automotive industry.
