For many years, Metris supplies state-of-the-art X-ray and CT systems to universities, research institutes and museums, gaining leadership knowledge into a multitude of domains. Research and educational institutes use X-ray and CT technology for didactic and scientific purposes, or to pave the road for industrial users by project work.

A vital aspect of studying specimens is the ability to visualize their internal structure. High-resolution radiographs and stunning 3D computer tomography visualizations help advance research and application of new innovative composites, plastics and compound materials. At the same time, pinpoint-sharp images increase the depth and pace of research conducted in geology, archaeology, paleontological, biology and other fields.

Metris leads the industrial X-ray and CT industry by providing cutting-edge technology with a continuous focus on innovation, opening unlimited new research and educational opportunities. Metris’ proprietary micro-focus X-ray sources are widely renowned because their size is considerably smaller than competitive mini-focus sources, providing image resolution up to 3 micron. The rotating target variant of Metris 225kV sources clearly surpasses fixed targets in cooling performance, ultimately translating into surplus CT acquisition speed or image accuracy. To accommodate inspection of larger or denser specimens, Metris introduced a 450kV micro-focus source, the only micro-focus source at this energy!

To respond to the specific challenges of universities, research institutes and museums, Metris designs the micro-CT solutions that exactly match the requirements. As system users, researchers collaborate with Metris specialists to stretch the limits of X-ray and CT to advance the depth of their investigations. Metris additionally offers X-ray and CT inspection services executed by experienced application engineers on state-of-the-art equipment to help resolve the most challenging research challenges.

Metris’ research & educational customer base includes Harvard, NASA, Manchester University, Natural History Museum London, Northwest Composite Research Centre, Norwegian Geological Institute, NRC (Canada), Sandia National Labs, Texas A & M, University of Minnesota, Warwick. Also Metris CT analysis work on the Antikythera mechanism of Athens' National history museum is worldwide recognized as a breakthrough in revealing ancient history.
