Multi-sensor measuring | Multi-sensor measuring
Key Words: coordinate measuring, non-contact measuring, video measuring, through-the-lens laser measurement, touch probe, zoom optics, micro-probe
Definition:A multi-sensor measuring instrument combines several types of measurement sensor (for example, touch probe, laser probe, video) in one instrument
TECHNOLOGY:
Different measurement sensors target different measurement tasks. Video measurement is ideal for the detection of edges, lasers identify and measure surface features, while touch probes are able to measure 'hidden' areas inaccessible to video or laser techniques. No one single sensor is able to carry out all the measuring tasks involved in characterising complex 3-D samples. Combining two or more sensors in one measuring system provides greater measurement capability, avoids the need to examine samples in multiple steps, and greatly increases the inspection efficiency. Such multisensor systems are also enhanced by automated operation and image analysis and optical capabilities such as laser auto- focus and optical zoom.
APPLICATIONS:
Multi-sensor systems are ideal for measuring 3D samples such as electronic components, medical devices, plastic injection moulded items, engineering components etc.
MICROSCOPE CONFIGURATION:
The NEXIV VMA-2520 designed to measure 3D specimens, is touch probe ready, integrates the latest imaging processing software and incorporates a new 10x optical zoom system and Laser Auto Focus option. Its 200 mm Z axis measuring range together with an optical system featuring a long 73.5mm working distance enables easy measurements of tall mechanical parts. In addition to the standard Vision AF, (Auto Focus) a fast Laser AF option enables sub micron resolution for height measurements regardless of any zoom magnification setting. Light weight and compact enough for bench-top operation, the NEXIV's high accuracy features make it ideal for a wide variety of industrial measuring, inspection and quality control applications.
